It's been a long time. ~Yawn. I'm now remembering exactly why I didn't play on the tennis team last year. I've been taking a class called 'Tennis Academy' on Tuesdays and Fridays for a little while now. The name sounds intense, but the class is really easy. Every day in the drills we do, I beat everyone except for like 3 or 4 kids. I mean BEAT. The other ones I can beat too, just only some of the time. So I own up the drills, and for the last half hour of this class we always pair up for match play. I always end up playing singles. Let me give you a breakdown of what the usual scores are. Even if you don't know tennis scoring at all, you will get the general idea. Set 1(which is normally all time will allow): me 1 - them 6. In other words, I won one game, they won six. Last Tuesday though, I hit an all time low. I lost to some kid 8 games to 0. And not in the normal 30 minutes of competitive play, but in the downsized 15 minutes we had that day. I've noticed a pattern in my playing style, and I think I've made it pretty obvious. As long as I am keeping score, I lose. That's just how it works. I have played REAL tennis(you know, when you and your opponent can get more than one shot over the net) for 3 years, and I have NEVER won a match. Ever. Except in doubles, but that match was entirely stacked in my favor.
